Music is “Busting Out All Over” for Vero Beach Next Season
Thanks to a Team of Music & Marketing Pros!
What began as a social introduction in 2014 has turned into a partnership that is making a difference for Vero Beach in the world of entertainment.
Rusty Young of MusicWorks, Inc., a producer and presenter of live entertainment, met Bev and Marty Paris of Paris Productions, a special events and marketing group, when his company presented Grammy award-winner Judy Collins in concert at the Emerson Center in the spring of 2014. The Paris’s came on board to help market the event. That success led the trio to form a partnership, allowing Young to make Vero Beach his home base for his Florida-wide operations, and ultimately, his permanent home.
A three-part music series for 2015 entitled The Masters of Music was then launched. The performers appearing on the Emerson Center stage included folksinger Livingston Taylor, John Sebastian, lead singer of the Lovin’ Spoonful and award-winning singers Janis Ian and Tom Paxton. Vero Beach audiences were thrilled about the prospect of concerts in their back yard and became dedicated patrons. Hence, an expansion to four performers for the series was made in 2015-2016 and sold out houses enjoyed Grammy award-winner pianist George Winston, followed by Folksinger Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul & Mary fame; the number one Paul McCartney tribute band: The McCartney Years; and closing the series, the musical legends… The Kingston Trio.
“We had an opportunity to talk to audiences following each concert, and discovered that Vero Beach was excited about experiencing great live entertainment close to home,” shares Rusty Young. “It prompted the three of us to sit down and re-evaluate what we should do moving forward. The answer was easy, let’s just do more!”
Marty Paris agrees. “Our re-evaluation showed to us that concert series weren’t necessarily the trend anymore. So we decided to increase our roster of entertainment allowing our audiences to pick and choose who they desired to see. We are also diversifying into more genres of entertainment as well as venues that would meet the needs of the talent while retaining a comfortable setting for our customers.”
“The approach to marketing needed to change as well, and finally, after much deliberation a name change needed to happen,” adds Bev Paris. “No longer the Masters of Music, we are simply known now as Live From Vero Beach-That’s Entertainment! “Having Vero Beach in the name was paramount to us, as it belongs to be a part of the fabric of this community, even though our market area stretches from as far north as Melbourne and as far south as Stuart.”
Another new aspect for the team is the addition of a fourth person…Stacey Kasselman. An old friend of Young, and someone with a solid history in special event planning and fundraising for non-profits, Kasselman decided to relocate to Vero Beach. “Stacey will be coordinating all of our events' production needs, Young adds.”
Three Vero Beach venues come into play for what appears to be up to12 concerts (which will include some surprise additions along the way) from November, 2016 to April, 2017 and include The Emerson Center, The Waxlax Theatre at Saint Edwards School and the Vero Beach Theatre Guild.
