Offer us a brief history about your band that may not be found in your bio supplied to us via your website.
Joe Mass had learned “Old Man” for a wedding gig and visited Dan Gold at his music store. He played it and Dan followed along on bass and the idea to start a Neil Young Tribute was born.
Tribute bands have become tremendously popular throughout the country and there are many covering the same original bands. What about your tribute band makes you stand out from the others that are out there?
We feel that we capture the spirit of what Neil Young represents so we take some liberties with the songs but stay true to the composition. While on stage, we don’t line up and stay in position… we feel that’s boring. We form a posse in the middle of the stage because that’s what Neil Young does!
What is your favorite song from your repertoire and why? Do you play the same set list at each concert? That changes.
They are all great songs…period! My favorite currently is “Comes a Time”. It has a pretty steel guitar break and nice harmonies. Our sets don’t change much. We play the hits and they flow in a way that has evolved.
Anything new and exciting on the horizon for your group?
New venues are on the horizon but we enjoy returning and seeing people every year that enjoy what we do.
Is there anything else you would like people to know about you/your performance?
We recently attended a Neil Young show and were confident that Neil Young would be happy with our representation!
